Recognizing the pressing issue of abandoned dogs facing hardships in Costa Rica, my family and I took a stand to address the crisis. When on the streets they endure challenges such as malnutrition, disease, and the perils of traffic, which prompted us to establish Patitas – an animal sanctuary built from the ground up.

Investing in 10 acres of land, we embarked on the journey of constructing a safe haven for these animals. Currently, our efforts are centered around rescuing dogs in dire need of medical attention. Every dog that becomes a part of Patitas undergoes a comprehensive healing process – from addressing illnesses to ensuring up-to-date vaccinations, along with responsible spaying and neutering. They find solace in a home filled with care, nutritious meals, ample play space, and genuine affection.

Despite our relentless efforts to fund this project ourselves, the demand to rescue more animals has surpassed our current capacity. The financial commitment from our own pockets sustains this project, but we've reached a point where we can't continue this mission alone.
